Stomach Virus Yuck!

NEVER, have so many of the kids been sick at one time! A stomach bug has took over. Out of 20 kids (including my grand kids)only 4 haven't been sick. Thankfully the little kids have all gotten sick on different days. I think it actually got in on Tuesday, as Robert was sick right at bedtime, but never threw up. Then on Wednesday night with Hannah, and she was really sick. She missed school on Thursday. Then by Friday night 4 more had it. Sat. more and Sunday even I had the bug although I wasn't as sick as some. So today one more has it. It's not but 24 hours, thank goodness. Keith hasn't come down with it yet, so he will probably have to miss a day of work when he does get it. I Cloroxed everything, but it didn't stop it. I guess it is just going to have to run it's course. I guess you can look at it as there is never a great loss with out some small gain. All the kids beds got stripped and washed and all the bathroom rugs got washed. So everything is clean IF its all over.

schedules

Our schedule is fixing to get pretty crazy! Austin has soccer practice on Sunday's from 2 - 3:30, Faith and Katelynn have dance on Tuesday from 6-7, Promise and Cora have cheer leading on Thursday's from 5:30-7, Hannah, Isaiah, Tyler, Andrew, and Katelynn have Good News club on Thursday 2:40 until 3:45, Krishawand, Marvin, and Selena have band practice Monday and Thursday's after school until 6:15. Wednesday Krishawanda has color guard until 5:15. Daivon and Anthony have football practice Monday -- Thursday until 6:30 or 7ish. Kieanna, and John have cross country until 5:15 Monday Tuesday and Thursday. Destinee is planning on playing basketball and is running in the afternoons after school. Krishawanda, Destinee, and Doreese all have jobs, and work as much as they can. We have season passes to the football game (thanks)this year and hope to go to every home game. Which is most Friday nights. Only 2 away games this year. Cora is also in chorus, and Robert in band. They have concerts periodically. We have church on Sunday and we go on some Wednesday's. NEEDLESS to say We are busy. I really believe in keeping the kids involved. It helps give them self-esteem, as well as helps them be well known and that makes for more friends. All positives. The kids don't have a lot of time to just hang together, in this picture they are all playing cards.
Thank goodness Keith's schedule is going to change after this week. He has been working 4AM yes 4AM until 2PM for the summer. It has been horrible. He sure hasn't gotten enough sleep. He comes in exhausted and sleepy, so he usually sleeps a couple of hours and then he's up until the house is quiet at 10pm. It seems like I haven't carried on a conversation with him all summer, unless we are out to ourselves and then we try to catch up.

I am looking forward to cooler weather for more than one reason. My power bill will drop by several hundred dollars for one thing, Keith will be home more, and I can work outside more. I love my flowers but they sure do need weeding. The hot weather just about gets me.

Laundry is calling me. I wonder if I could get by with my kids usual....... I didn't here you! LOL

Go Panthers!

Tonight is our first official High School football game! Daivon and Anthony are playing football, (Anthony is also in the band) Krishawanda is in Color Guard, and Marvin and Selena are in the band! I can't wait to see everyone in uniform! I usually shed a few inconspicuous tears as I realize how far these kids have come. God has blessed us all as individuals and as a family. Thank you Lord for our many blessings! I'll post pictures tomorrow, (if I don't forget my camera).

Proud MAMA

Destinee and Krishawanda got promoted in JROTC. What an accomplishment. I am really proud of these two girls. They have come so far. They are two of the spots of sunshine in my life. They truly make me proud! This is how I envisioned my children. Strong individuals. Happy, content, God fearing, kids working towards their full potential. Proud mama post:)

whew!

These are pictures from some of the things we did this summer. Concert in the park, roller skating, 4Th of July fireworks, Jennifer's visit home, all of July's birthday's, right up to the first day of school.
I have been busy running back and forth to the Psychologist, Orthodontist, Pediatrician, Dentist, Health Dept. and School. Hopefully after this week all will slow down and I can enjoy some time at home. I am planning a big get together for September and I know that will keep me busy. If I didn't have something to do, I'd be crazier than I am now! Believe it?

Destine

Destinee graduated from Ft. Jackson South Carolina on Thursday August 12. We drove down on Wednesday and spent the afternoon with her. Her graduation was at 9 am Thursday. Krishawanda and Daivon got to go. It sure was good to see her after her being gone all summer. She still has one more year of high school and will finish her AIT training next summer. I was going to post pictures but can not find my camera. School has started and I am GLAD! I have lots of appointments scheduled and haven't had much alone time yet, but I am looking forward to some quiet. I am hoping 3 kids get released from therapy in the next month or so. That will cut down on some of my drive time. It is about an hour one way for us to go to the psychologist office. I have been so caught up lately in several projects going on that I haven't posted much. Some exciting news, some trouble news, and then there is just plain on life. I hope to have a quiet evening tonight and maybe read. We'll see....

Summer is at an end

THANK GOODNESS! We really enjoyed the first part of summer, I had activities planned every day. Park, lake, skating, bowling, mall and several other outings. On our mountain camping vacation one of the teenagers acted out awful. I do mean awful. Lies were told, truth was stretched and the culprit pitted one against the other. But I forget who is in control. God. So actually everything worked out fine. My nerves are still a bit on edge, and I just didn't have the heart to jump back into all the trips with the kids. We still went a few places but nothing like the first of the summer. I know God always has a plan, and the grounding that came from the acting out actually made us closer as a family. Outside influences can really be bad. Teenagers are so impressionable and all it takes is for some busy body do gooder to stick their nose in and walla: teenagers think that your a mean ole mom, who doesn't really want or love them, and that they deserve so much better. Thankfully with the support of family, therapist, and local law enforcement I think this kid has learned his lesson. Of course he hasn't had any influence of any body around except his family, teachers and professionals, so he's been a great kid to be around these last 30 days.

Tomorrow is the first day of school! YEA. I am looking forward to a day of QUIET. All of our supplies are bought. Everyone has their new outfit picked out and new shoes to wear. They are ready and so am I . Can't wait! 6 am can't come soon enough!
