lazy day

Its been a rainy, cool, lazy day. I could use some of these days, well not the rain. We had a big breakfast and the kids have just played legos, lincoln logs, cards, board games and watched TV. So far no fights, or arguments. I need more of these days. Lots more LOL

Updates

Well again time passes so quickly. I've been caught up working in my yard. So much to do. Weeds just take over. Leaves just pile up. It seems like just yesterday we were redoing the back yard and now a whole year has passed and it all needs to be done again. well almost everything. My grass isn't returning as quickly as I would like. To much traffic. Too many little feet, and bikes, and scooters and balls and etc. I did get most all of my flower beds cleaned out. I just like a little more on one. I'm tired. Bone tired. Yet I really love it!

Everyone here is doing great! DJ settled back in easy. Destinee and Krishawanda are both working as much as they can while planning and shopping for prom. Doreese is so ready to move on and I'm so ready for her too also! Marvin is still doing very good! Oh it feels so good to say that. Daivon and Anthony are both doing great~ Daivon has really good grades and Anthony isn't far behind. Selena is growing up. 15 today was our 20, I still see her as my little girl. Kieanna and I still but heads. She is doing very good in school with mostly A's and one B. Cora, John, Promise, and Hannah are all happy and healthy. Hannah just scored about 2 years higher on some of her end of the year test. Which puts her in the high average range. Ya-hoo. We have been working with her for 4 years now. Robert just got his report card and there is definitely room for improvement. All the younger boys are rambunctious and totally boys. Faith is still my spoiled little girl and Katelynn is still practically perfect. All in all everyone is holding their own.

Staisha and the baby are doing fine. Kyson is still a little stinker. He loves his baby sister and wants to hold her.
Tabitha is planning on painting her house spring break. Well paying to have it painted anyway. Andrew and Lauren both think they live here. Andrew especially. Lauren and Makayla are so funny together. Fighting one minute and best friends the next. Oh to be a 4 year old.

Big News

My first adopted child DJ moved back home today. He's like my firstborn and will always hold a special place in my heart. He turned 18 March 8Th. This past summer I let him go stay 2 weeks with his birth family and while he was there he got a job. So when the 2 weeks was up he wanted to stay and work. I said yes, which was really a mistake. When it came time for him to come home he didn't want to come. I tried everything to talk him into it but he threatened everything from quitting school to running away if I didn't let him stay and go to school there. Well I relented after much heartache and prayer. Even his birth father told him he should stay here and finish his senior year. But at 17 and a half years old, you have a mind of your own. It didn't take long for him to realize he messed up. He was man enough to tell me so too. He wanted to come back several times, but we had signed guardianship over, and his family didn't want him to come, so I didn't fight it, I just encouraged him to stay and make the best of it. Well when he turned 18 he decided he wanted to come home and didn't need any ones permission to do so. He texted me, and Keith and I decided we couldn't say no. I'm excited and worried at the same time. I know he has lived a different life and changed. He went from living with 17 siblings to living with 3. He has grown up a lot, and seems to be well rounded. Of course we haven't butted heads over anything yet. I say yet because it's bound to happen. He has been such a easy kid to raise. I love him so much. I wanted him since the day he was born. (long story) I hope and pray everything works out. Now I don't have to worry about getting to 2 graduations on the same day. Thank goodness!

Big Project

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted. I have had several big things going on! Staisha had her baby! 7lbs 3 oz. little girl. Kaedrianna Danielle. She is sooo cute! Both of them are doing great! Her labor was only 3 hours long! Kyson is adjusting nicely.

I have also been redoing my kitchen floors. BIG project. MY kitchen is huge, and it has taken Keith a week. The trim is still not finished. I am very pleased with it so far. My hubby has worked so hard. We still have 2 screen doors to put up and a cabinet. He goes back to work tomorrow so it will be slow go with everything I want him to do in the evenings.

Kids are all doing great! They have loved the early spring weather. I haven't worked outside in my flowers much. I have too much going on inside. I have taken down 5 beds. I decided to do an extra clean spring cleaning. It sure needed it. I have painted several rooms and moved around furniture. We sat up another computer, that is sure going to come in handy with everyone wanting on at the same time.

We haven't signed up for any spring sports this year. With gas prices going up and Keith not working as much we just deleted that out of our budget. I was driving an hour one way for a cheer/gym class and 30 minutes one way for a karate class 2 times a week. Two of the girls are still in dance but it is local and only 5 minutes from the house. I can take them and go back and pick then up. No soccer this year. Practices weren't that far away but some of the games were.

This month is flying by. Jennifer has a birthday at the end of the month. A BIG one! She is still at Vanderbilt and I miss her so much! D.J. had one at the first of the month. He turned 18. He is wanting to come back home after moving out when school started to live with his birth family. He found out the grass was not greener. I am still debating on how I will handle it. He HAS to go to college if he comes home and I don't know how his grades are this year.

Brian still hasn't proposed to Amey. UGH! He is afraid of the commitment I guess, I know he loves her. Too bad I can't tell him what to do any more. I guess the line has to be drawn somewhere and he is 27. LOL

Tabitha is doing well, and both of my grand babies are growing up so fast. Both of them are exceeding in school and I am so proud.

Destinee and Doreese are both graduating this year. Destinee has her drivers licence and a car. She is growing up and finding her way in the world. Her and Krishawanda both will be gone in the Army this summer. I'll be glad and sad at the same time. They argue SO much! (reminds me of two other sisters, now grown)

Life is moving on fast. Sometimes I can't believe another month has passed. I'll try not to wait so long between post again. But then again..........
